Conifers are an ever fascinating group of plants that evolved way before we had the flowering plants that we know and love today.
During this interactive online workshop you will have the chance to learn some of the key physical characteristics that will help you identify different conifers to family groups, be signposted to several resources that can help you with your continued learning, as well as learn about some of the ethnobotanical uses of this fascinating group of plants.
You will be sent some conifer samples for this workshop, so please can you send your postal address when booking your tickets. Also, please note that if you live outside of the UK, botanical samples cannot be sent to you due to biosecurity issues, however, there will be plenty of slides for you to see the details of each specimen should you still wish to attend the course.
I look forward to sharing some botanical time together and please do get in touch if you have any further questions.
This is an online workshop rather than a webinar and therefore will be interactive so please can you ensure that your audio (if not video) is on so we can hear you! If this is a problem please do contact me and we can see what else we can sort out.
A zoom link to the workshop will be sent to you the day before the event.
What previous students have said
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the workshop last night. It was exactly what I was looking for, and you are such a brilliant teacher! What I wouldn’t give to spend a few hours walking in my local woods with you to make sense of it all. Please would you add me to your mailing list as I’d love to learn more.
Thanks for the online class last night, it has definitely helped me with confidence in identifying conifers and great to hear some really interesting facts which I haven’t heard before. Its one of the situations when I wish one could download someone’s knowledge and plug it straight into my brain, I look forward to learning more with you
Wonderful workshop on Conifer ID with Jennie. Inspired to go into the woods. Fascinating evolutionary info. Would happily do the whole things again. Thank you Jennie and the organisation team.
